I was looking for ideas for my first attempt in the livery editor when I noticed that many people in the community were interested in buying designs based on movies. I decided I would do a movie design for my first project, but I didn't want to try anything too difficult. I thought about all my favorite films, and I finally settled on Jurassic Park as a potential theme. After spending some time getting comfortable with the livery editor in Forza Motorsport 2, I was ready to attempt my first serious design.
I chose to use the Chrysler PT Cruiser to recreate the famous car from the movie because it is the closest model available. To start off, I sprayed on a bright green base coat. Then I applied the yellow fade gradient vinyl along the bottom on the car. After that, I created the blood red "claw marks" on the roof with several vinyls stretched and skewed to match the original car.
I knew the biggest challenge would be creating the complex logo with only the basic shapes available, so I saved that for last. After several hours of fine-tuning and 150 separate layers of paint, the logo was finished and the car was complete. Once the car was released to the public it proved to be time well spent, and the design was an instant success. With the money and experience I gained from this project I planned to buy some of the more exotic cars for my next designs, which I hoped would be bigger and better in every way.
